Daniel Knapp directs IHS Screen Digest’s global advertising research, analysing and predicting advertising market development across all media. His work focuses on economic, technological, regulatory and media consumption changes and their implications for global advertising markets and the strategic development of media companies.
For IHS Screen Digest's consulting business, Daniel has worked with a diverse array of companies within and around the advertising industry advising on strategy, providing expert insight into business practice and building industry forecast models. His experience spans due diligence, consumer research, strategy, customized modelling, marketing techniques and employee workshops. Daniel is a regular speaker at industry events and policy workshops and frequently quoted in UK and international consumer and trade press.
Prior to IHS Screen Digest, Daniel worked in media policy at the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) and as a Research Fellow at the European Institute for the Media, a media think tank. Daniel is currently completing a PhD in media sociology and has published on topics such as online privacy, media literacy and the social impacts of algorithms. Daniel holds an MSc degree from the London School of Economics and a B.A. in Government and Communication Sciences from the University of Erfurt, Germany.
