Jon Soberg is Managing Partner at MS&AD Ventures, where he and his team invest in early stage investments in companies with great teams who are changing the world. Focus areas include: InsurTech, AI, IOT, Big Data and Cyber Security.
Jon has been an early stage venture investor for nearly a decade and has made over 75 investments across 5 continents (40% of his investments are outside the US). Jon has held 35 board positions in companies where he has invested. He was listed in Forbes in 2015 as one of the top global FinTech investors.
Jon has been part of multiple exits including Honest Dollar (sold to Goldman Sachs), NTNX (IPO: $4.3B valuation), 1-Page (public on ASX), Hootsuite (52X) and Cyvera ($200M valuation in 18 months).
Some notable companies where Jon has been an investor include: Addepar, Braze, Applied Data Finance, Coverhound, Credorax, Kreditech, Finiata, Honest Dollar, Atrium, 1-Page, Cyvera, ParkJockey, Sixup, Trulioo, TrueLink Financial, Strangeworks, Fundbox and Nutanix.
As a Lecturer at Wharton, Jon has advised and lectured on go-to-market and growth marketing strategies, pricing optimization, financial analysis, operations management.
Prior to becoming an investor, Jon was a serial entrepreneur and operator, with an IPO exit at Adforce. He also managed technology and operations for a $70B lending operation at Ditech.com/GMAC Mortgage, leading directly to his expertise in lending investments.
Jon is a Palmer Scholar at Wharton, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
